Complete 2016 Promotions Calendar I
2016 Women's Schedule I
2016 Men's Schedule
With the 2016 soccer season only a day away, the University of Portland Athletics Marketing Department has released the
complete promotions schedule. The exciting 2016 season is highlighted by a couple Camper Reunions, the Eighth Annual Bite on the Bluff, Latino Heritage Kickoff, Oktoberfest, Hall of Fame Weekend, Brest Cancer Awareness, and Youth Soccer Day.
Additionally, all
U.S Bank Pilots Kids Club members will receive free admission to all of the men's and women's soccer home games. Also every weekend game will feature Kids Day with activities, a Face Painter, and Inflatables on the Turf Soccer Field (weather pending).
There will also be youth team experiences available for all home games, a High-Five Tunnel, Player Escort, and Half-Time Games, and all will feature a free t-shirt for all kids in the group. For more information on the youth team experiences, please call
Dave Taylor at (503) 943-8619.
The first promotion will be for a women's soccer game on August 19 as the Pilots women's soccer team opens the season at home vs. Washington. This game will be the first Camper Reunion event of the season and all summer soccer campers can receive free admission by wearing their camp t-shirt to the game. The other three Camper Reunions will be men's soccer vs. DePaul on August 28, men's soccer vs. UC Irvine on September 25, and women's soccer vs. Loyola Marymount on October 2.
The second promotion of the season will feature a double-header at Merlo Field and is the Eighth Annual Bite on the Bluff, a fan favorite. The women's team will play cross-town rival Portland State at 5:00 p.m., while the men's team takes on Wright State immediately following the women's game. Bite on the Bluff, a street food fair in the Chiles Center Plaza, features many of the popular Portland food carts, including Voodoo Doughnut, Koi Fusion, Bunk Sandwiches, and much, much more. This is an event you will not want to miss.
Tickets for the games can be purchased here: 1 ticket is good for both games of the double-header.
The month of September features three promotions of note. First, on September 4 there will be the first ever Latino Heritage Kickoff event. Latino Heritage Kickoff will be held in the Chiles Center Plaza and will feature a mariachi band, food, and activities. Then, on September 25 the Pilots men's soccer team takes on UC Irvine and it will be Youth Soccer Day featuring free admission for all youth soccer players and clubs. Finally, there will be the Second Pilots Oktoberfest on September 30 as the women's soccer team takes on Pepperdine. The Pilots Oktoberfest was very memorable last year and will continue this year with a pregame gathering that includes food, beverages, an Oompah Band, and activities for kids. The night will then be capped off by the most exciting half-time event ever as the Weiner Dog Races return for a second year on Merlo!
In October, there will be a Breast Cancer Awareness game when the women's team plays Pacific on October 21, Senior Day for the six seniors on the Pilots women's team on October 23 against Saint Mary's, and a Halloween Celebration on October 30
th for the men's game vs. San Diego.
The 2016 season concludes in November with the men's soccer Senior Night on November 12 as the Pilots take on Saint Mary's.
