DAVIS, Calif. – The Portland men's tennis team concluded play at the Aggie Invitational by winning all five matches on Sunday at the Marya Welch Tennis Center.

Playing his third three set match in two days, freshman Drew Davison defeated Brian Lee of Saint Mary's by a 7-6, 4-6, 1-0(7) margin on Sunday morning. Fellow freshman Tom Hann defeated Matthew Campana of Saint Mary's 6-4, 6-4, and then sophomore Andrew Newell posted a 6-4, 6-7, 1-0(5) win against Bernardo Moraes of Sacramento State.

The Pilots won both doubles matches as Davison and Newell knocked off Mitchell Iwahiro and Arjith Jayaraman of UC Davis by an 8-4 margin. Pierre Garcia and Hann then defeated Simon Homedes and Matthew Perkins of Gonzaga, 8-1.

"We had a very nice final day of tennis in Davis," Portland head coach Aaron Gross said. "We won all five of our matches played today. The morning started with a couple of doubles wins showing our best form of the weekend. Andrew Newell got his first singles win of the weekend and it was very well deserved. He has worked really hard so it is good to see that work rewarded. Tom Hann played very composed in windy conditions winning in straight sets against the number two player from Saint Mary's. It was a great weekend for him overall, winning three of his four singles matches."

Garcia had a nice run to the quarterfinals of the Singles A Draw, where he lost to eventual tournament champion Bjorn Hoffmann of California. Overall, the Pilots finished 8-7 in singles and 4-4 in doubles.

Portland seniors Michail Pervolarakis and Mathieu Garcia are set to compete at the Saint Francis Health System ITA All-American Championships starting on Monday in Tulsa, Okla. Pervolarakis will play in the Qualifying Singles Draw, while the duo will pair of for Qualifying Doubles as well. The tournament will have live video and scoring throughout.
