SAN BRUNO, Calif. --- Portland sophomore forward Benji Michel is the West Coast Conference Men's Soccer Player of the Week after scoring twice during the Pilots' 4-1 win over No. 9 and previously unbeaten Western Michigan on Friday night at Merlo Field. It's the second WCC Player of the Week honor for Michel this season.

Michel's first goal against the Broncos came in the fourth minute and at the time gave the home side a 1-0 lead. Michel then capped the scoring with his second goal of the night, which came in the 85th minute in a 1-v-1 opportunity. Michel has been among the nation's leaders in goals all season long, and he currently leads the West Coast Conference with eight goals this year.

Michel enters Monday night's game at Virginia fifth in the county in both total goals and goals per game (0.89).
