Portland closes out the non-conference schedule this week by hosting Hartford on Tuesday and then taking on Sacramento State at the Golden 1 Center on Thursday. ABOUT PORTLAND
• Portland is looking for its second consecutive home victory after defeating San Jose State 64-55 last week.
• Josh McSwiggan (13.7), Franklin Porter (12.1) and Marcus Shaver Jr. (11.1) are all averaging double figures.
• Portland has been on fire from three-point range this season. The Pilots are leading the WCC in both threes made per game (10.0) and three-point percentage (.414). UP is ranked No. 19 in nationally in percentage and No. 36 in three-pointers made. Franklin Porter is the WCC leader at 50.0 percent individually, while D'Marques Tyson is fifth (.457) and Josh McSwiggan is sixth at 45.3 percent.
• Philipp Hartwich is leading the WCC in blocked shots (3.0), while his 120 career blocks rank second behind Thomas van der Mars (121, 2011-15). Hartwich also ranks third in the league in rebounds (9.1).
• Terry Porter's 2017 recruiting class was ranked No. 10 nationally by HoopScoop.com. The class was the highest rated in the WCC and No. 2 class nationally among mid-major schools. Nine newcomers comprised the class with seven freshmen and two junior college transfers.
• Portland has a diverse roster featuring players from 13 different states or countries. There are three native Oregonians, but no other state or territory with more than one player on the roster. Internationally, Portland has players from Mali, New Zealand, Germany and England.
• The Pilots signed 6-8 post Josh Phillips (Huntington Beach, Calif.) to a NLI during the early signing period.
• Portland took an August foreign tour to England and went 3-1 on the trip. The Pilots defeated 2017 British Basketball League runner-up Newcastle on a buzzer-beater by Franklin Porter, dropped a buzzer beater to BBL Champions Leicester, and posted two comfortable wins against academy teams.

• The Hawks are a member of the America East Conference and enter Tuesday having won two in a row against Quinnipiac and Sacred Heart.
• John Carroll is averaging a team-best 17.1 points per game, while Jason Dunne (16.5) and J.R. Lynch (12.4) are also averaging double figures.
• Hartford averages 9.2 three-pointers made per game as Dunne has drilled a team-high 35 triples already this season.
• The teams met for a home-and-home series in 1992 and 1993 with each side winning their respective road game.
• Head coach John Gallagher led the Hawks to the 2013 NCAA Tournament.
