PORTLAND, Ore. --- Senior Devin Kopas belted a home run and collected a two-run double to help the Pilots build an early lead, but the Loyola Marymount Lions came back to claim a 16-5 win over Portland in the regular season finale played a on sunny and warm Sunday afternoon at Joe Etzel Field. The win gives the Lions a share of the West Coast Conference championship.

Kopas' two-run double came in the bottom of the second, and it broke a scoreless tie. His shot to left-center field scored both Jason Rosen and Dutton Elske. A few batters later, Ryan Kim produced a two-run double of his own, and just like that the Pilots (10-41-1, 5-22 WCC) were on top 4-0.

LMU (37-16, 20-7 WCC) immediately responded with a five-run third inning to surge in front. The Lions would go on to score three runs in the fourth, another in the fifth, two more in the seventh and five in the ninth en route to the win.

Kopas belted his homer, his second of the season, in the bottom of the fourth inning, and it was hit over the wall in straight away center field.

Kopas was one of five seniors honored on the day for Portland, joining Rosen, Michael Forgione, Marty Luckenbach, and Kevin Wade.

Luckenbach (1-2), a reliever with six saves this season, started his first career game for the Pilots, working 3.0 innings. He struck out the side in the top of the first before the Lions got to him for six runs on seven hits. Three pitchers followed Luckenbach on the hill.

LMU starter Blake Redman (5-6) recovered after that four-run second inning to secure the win. He went 7.0 innings, and reliever Braydon Salzman tossed the final two. Redman K'd five, walked two, and allowed all five runs on five hits.
