PORTLAND, Ore. --- Former Portland Pilots midfielder Allison Wetherington is heading to the NWSL after signing with the Houston Dash, it was announced by the club on Wednesday. Wetherington played briefly in Finland after concluding her career with the Pilots in 2016.
"I am very grateful for this opportunity and extremely excited to be joining the Houston Dash," Wetherington said. "I feel like my time at UP really helped me prepare for this opportunity, and I can't wait to see what the future holds."

Wetherington appeared in 76 games over four seasons at Portland, where she scored 13 goals and tallied 20 assists. The midfielder was named to the All-West Coast Conference First Team during her sophomore and senior seasons, and she nabbed All-WCC Second Team honors as a freshman and junior. Named the 2013 WCC Freshman of the Year, Wetherington was a three-time selection to the preseason all-conference team, and she earned all-region accolades in 2013, 2015, and 2016.

Wetherington featured for the U.S. Women's Youth National Teams at the U-18 and U-20 levels.
