University of Portland women's soccer alum Tiffeny Milbrett is the newest member of the National Soccer Hall of Fame, it was announced on Thursday. Milbrett, who starred on the pitch for the Pilots in the early 1990's, joins fellow UP soccer alums Kasey Keller and Shannon Mac Millan in the Hall of Fame, as Keller was inducted in 2015 and Mac Millan in 2016.

Milbrett (1990-95) was a three-time NSCAA All-American with the Pilots, and she was a three-time finalist for the MAC Hermann Trophy, which is awarded to the top player in the nation. Milbrett is still Portland's all-time leader in career goals per game (1.39) and points per game (3.32), she ranks second in goals (103) and points (246), is third in game-winning goals (22) and assists per game (0.54), and she's tied for fourth in assists (40). Milbrett also remains prominent in the NCAA record books, ranking second all-time in goals per game, third in career goals and points per game, and fifth in points.

In 1990, Milbrett was named Soccer America's Freshman Soccer Player of the Year, and she garnered West Coast Conference Offensive Player of the Year honors in 1992 and 1994. She was also named to Soccer America's College Team of the Decade for the 1990's.

A local product out of nearby Hillsboro, Milbrett helped lead the Pilots to their first ever NCAA Playoff appearance in 1992, and the Pilots reached their first College Cup in 1995 where they advanced to the championship game.
Milbrett had a heralded international career that saw her win both Olympic Gold and a World Cup. In 1995, she was a member of the team that finished third at the World Cup in Sweden, and in 1996 Milbrett was a starter for the team that won the 1996 Olympic Gold in Atlanta, scoring the game-winning goal against China in the final. In 1998 Milbrett was a member of the team that won the gold medal at the Goodwill Games, and in 1999 Milbrett became the goal leader on the US team that won the World Cup and took home Silver in the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney. She finished her international career with 204 caps, 100 goals, and 61 assists.
In 2001, Milbrett became a founding member of the New York Power in the Women's United Soccer Association (WUSA) where she also became the league's MVP and Offensive Player of the Year. In March 2009, Milbrett was selected to play with FC Gold Pride of the new Women's Professional Soccer. She also had professional stints in Japan and Sweden.

Milbrett was inducted into the WCC Hall of Honor in 2011 and to the UP Athletics Hall of Fame in 2012.

ABOUT THE NATIONAL SOCCER HALL OF FAME
The National Soccer Hall of Fame was first located in Oneonta, NY and known as the National Soccer Museum from 1979-2010. It became known as the National Soccer Hall of Fame in 1983. The facility closed in February of 2010. In 2013, FC Dallas owners Clark and Dan Hunt launched a campaign to bring the Hall of Fame to Frisco, Texas. Their father, Lamar Hunt, was inducted in the National Soccer Hall of Fame in 1982. In 1999, he received the Hall's highest honor, the Medal of Honor. He remains one of only three individuals to have won the award.
