LAST WEEK
• Despite the Pilots controlling possession for much of the match and holding an edge in shots, the Pacific Tigers scored the game's only goal on Saturday night en route to a 1-0 WCC win at Merlo Field.
• Pacific's goal came in the 40th minute.
• The Pilots peppered the Pacific frame with shots throughout the night, including in the 17th minute when they had three attempts.
• Ben Ortiz hit the left post with a low shot from outside the area in the 78th minute, and in the closing minutes Rey Ortiz whipped in a wicked cross, but the Pilots were unable to get on the end of it, and the Tigers escaped with the win.

ABOUT THE PILOTS...
• Junior Luke Hendel was named the WCC Player of the Week on Oct. 6 after registering the game-winner during a 2-1 victory over UC Riverside (Oct. 4) at Merlo Field; Hendel also earned Top Drawer Soccer's Team of the Week Honorable Mention recognition.
• Earlier this season Hendel landed on the TDS Team of the Week after scoring both of Portland's game-winners against George Washington (Sept. 6) and Davidson (Sept. 8).
• Freshman Delentz Pierre became the second Pilot this season to land on the Top Drawer Soccer Team of the Week after scoring his first career goal and helping secure a 3-1 win over CSUN (Sept. 20).
• The six goals scored by the Pilots during a 6-0 win over Davidson on Sept. 8 were the most scored by a Portland team since 2002 when they also won by a 6-0 margin (vs. DePaul); six different Pilots accounted for each of the six goals.
• Three of Portland's five wins this season have been shutouts; the Pilots have four shutouts overall.
• The Pilots have only allowed seven goals this year and they rank 16th nationally in goals against average (0.685), they're 21st in save percentage (0.811), and they rank 26th in shutout percentage (0.500).
• The seven goals allowed are tied with San Diego for the fewest in the WCC, and Portland's GAA of 0.680 ranks second in the league.
• Individually, Luke Hendel is tied for 19th in the country in game-winning goals (3), and goalkeeper Nico Campuzano is 29th with a .832 goals against average.
• Offensively, the Pilots have out-scored their opponents 15-7, and nine different players have scored a goal.
• The Pilots have 15 assists on their 15 goals.
• For the second straight season, senior midfielder Rey Ortiz was named to the Preseason Watch List for the MAC Hermann Trophy, which is awarded annually to the best collegiate player in the nation.
• Ortiz, who collected three goals and three assists in limited action as a junior, was also named to the All-West Coast Conference Preseason Team, as was senior midfielder Gio Magana-Rivera.
• Portland's 2019 recruiting class was ranked ninth in the nation by Top Drawer Soccer; the 10 newcomers are the program's third straight top-10 recruiting class.
• The Pilots received a first-place vote and were selected to finish second in the WCC this season by the league's eight head coaches.

THE OPPONENT
• The LMU Lions are 1-3-2 in their last six matches and they dropped a 4-1 home decision to No. 21 Marshall on Tuesday.
• The Lions have outscored opponents 17-13 and they're 20th nationally in shots per game (15.0); they're also No. 22 in shutout percentage (0.538).
• Duhaney Williams leads the team with nine points on three goals and three assists.
• Keeper Jacob Jackson has started 11 games in goal and claims a GAA of 0.95 and a .795 save percentage.
• Paul Krumpe is in his 22nd year as head at LMU.
