SAN BRUNO, Calif. – Portland sophomore Tom Hann was named to the 2018-19 West Coast Conference Men's Tennis All-Academic Team, the league office announced on Tuesday.
Hann has a 3.56 cumulative grade-point average while pursuing a degree in business. The Perth, Australia native posted a 16-17 overall singles record this season while battling injuries. He played at the No. 2 and No. 3 singles positions this spring.
Despite being just a sophomore, Hann was the most experienced player on the roster this spring with senior Carlos Donat unavailable due to injury. Hann teamed with all freshmen as the Pilots finished 7-14 during the dual season.
At the conclusion of each athletic season, the WCC selects an all-academic squad for each WCC-sponsored sport. To be considered, a student-athlete must maintain at least a 3.20 cumulative grade point average while also being a significant contributor to her team.
