PORTLAND, Ore. --- Rose Pflug, a Portland native who spent the past two years at Pepperdine, has committed to the University of Portland women's basketball program and will be joining the Pilots as a junior, announced head coach Michael Meek. Pflug, a 5-11 guard, averaged 6.5 points last season as a sophomore for the Waves and shot better than 41 percent from beyond the three-point arc.

"We are thrilled with the recent addition of Rose Pflug," said coach Meek. "She is not only an outstanding player who can score on all three levels, but she also will bring outstanding leadership and a will be a positive influence on our program culture. We are very excited to have Rose coming back home to Portland."

Pflug had a game-high 17 points last year and she scored in double digits 10 times. She made 64 appearances and nine starts at Pepperdine, and she hit a career-best four three-pointers against Saint Mary's. She was second on the team with 40 three's overall, and she received WCC All-Academic Honorable Mention recognition.

A teammate of current Pilot Maddie Muhlheim at Sunset High School, Pflug was named to the Oregon 6A All-State Second Team following her senior season. She also landed on the All-Metro League First Team, and she was named Sunset's Senior Athlete of the Year. In 2017, Pflug averaged 15 points, seven rebounds, and five assists per game as she helped the Apollos finish sixth in the state.
