Rhyan Mogel led the way for Portland with 17 points – matching her career high – along with three rebounds and two steals. Florence Dallow and Dyani Ananiev added 16 and 12 points respectively, with Dallow's point total being a career high. Tiffany Barbosa reached a new career-high with eight points, including two three-pointers, as well.
Defensively, the Pilots forced 24 turnovers and added 11 steals, led by four takeaways by Ananiev. Four Pilots had multiple steals on the day as well. Julia Dalan added three blocks as well to make it five blocks through two games. Offensively, the Pilots scored 72 points on 41.8% shooting and 26.9% shooting from outside, with 33 turnovers themselves.
How it Happened
The first quarter was a chaotic one, with a total of 15 turnovers and 15 fouls across both teams. Neither team gained a clear edge in the quarter until Montana State scored the last five points of the quarter to take a 27-22 lead after one.
Portland closed the gap in the second quarter with a quick five points to tie it up, but the Bobcats responded just as quick, putting together a 13-2 run to make it double digits at the media timeout. Portland tried to close that gap, but Montana State's 14 points off turnovers in the quarter gave them a 47-34 lead through the first 20 minutes.
Both teams continued to push the pace in the second half, playing at breakneck speeds. Montana State turned the Pilots over nine times in the quarter with five steals. They held a 64-47 lead over Portland through three. Portland cut into the lead slightly in the fourth but fell 86-72.

- Mogel matched a career-high with 17 points, leading the Pilots. Mogel added two steals as well.
