PORTLAND, Ore. --- Portland sophomore Alex Fowler poured in 31 points and junior Haylee Andrews flirted with a triple-double, but the Montana State Bobcats used a late run in the fourth quarter to claim an 80-67 win over the Pilots on Thursday afternoon at the Chiles Center. It's the second time to score 30 or more points for Fowler during her career.

The game was close throughout as neither team was able to create much separation during the first three quarters. The Pilots led going to the final frame before the Bobcats opened the fourth with a lay-in, which was answered with a lay-up by Andrews.

The Pilots and Bobcats exchanged baskets from there, including consecutive buckets from Fowler that kept Portland on top by one. Moments later the Pilots' edge was still a point when Maddie Muhlheim drove baseline and finished to make it a 62-61 game with 6:25 remaining.

The Bobcats continued to produce offensively, and they claimed a one-point advantage with 5:29 showing on the clock. From there, Montana State embarked on a lengthy 15-3 run, holding the Pilots to just one field goal the rest of the way to secure the road win.

Fowler was 12 of 18 from the field to lead the Pilots (3-3) in scoring. Andrews finished with 16 points, eight rebounds and 11 assists.

For Montana State (2-2), Darian White had a solid game as she registered a double-double with 24 points and 11 rebounds, to go along with nine assists. Tori Martell had a nice second half and added 19 points.

The Bobcats led after the first quarter and built a seven-point edge in the second. Andrews was able to cut into the deficit with a couple of lay-ups and a pair of free throws, and Maddie Muhlheim leveled the score at 32-32 when she buried a three just before the half.

Both teams went on runs in the third quarter, and the Pilots jumped out to a four-point lead early with the help of back-to-back lay-ins by Fowler, with Andrews providing the assist both times. The Bobcats then re-claimed the lead, but the Pilots had an answer as they ended the frame with an 11-2 outburst to surge back in front. The run was again capped by Muhlheim three to allow Portland to hold a 52-51 advantage going to the fourth.

Montana State shot 46 percent for the game and out-rebounded the Pilots 42-33. Portland shot 41.4 percent from the field.
