MADISON, Wis.---Bradley Peloquin jumped 16 spots in the last 2000m of the 8K to secure 56th-place overall at the Nuttycombe Invitational at Thomas Zimmer Championship Course on Friday morning, leading the No. 26 men's cross country team into 16th place in the team scores against several nationally ranked programs at the meet.

All-American Anna Pataki crossed the line first for the Portland women in the 6K event to land in 30th-place, coming in with a time of 20:41.7. The No. 18 women's team finished in 17th place in the team results, defeating a handful of other programs currently in the polls.

Jacob Klemz rolled into 69th-place individually (24:12.9) as the men's team's second scorer, and Jonas Gertsen took 79th with a time of 24:19.1. Stan Niesten (24:19.7), and Matt Strangio (24:46.4) earned the 82nd and 140th positions, respectively.

Back on the women's side, Laura Pellicoro passed 10 others throughout the last split on her way to 39th-place overall, clocking in with a time of 20:48.0. Emma Jenkins was next in 93rd (21:13.9), Veerle Bakker garnered 128th (21:29.1), and Samantha Prusse in 198th (22:02.4) closed out the scoring for the Pilots women.

"The team competed well and we picked up some nice wins, even though it wasn't our best performance," said women's head coach Ian Solof. "We'll be ready for conference, regionals, and nationals."

Both teams are back in action tomorrow, Saturday, October 16Â at the Lewis & Clark XC Invite in Estacada, Ore. The men's 8K is set for a 10:30 a.m. start, with the women's 6K to follow at 11:15 a.m.
