PORTLAND, Ore. -- After a stellar year, Portland Pilots women's soccer forward Nedya Sawan has been named to the United Soccer Coaches All-West Region Third Team for the 2021 season. It is the first time that Sawan has been named to an All-Region team and the first time a Pilot has made a team since Taryn Ries did so in 2019.
Sawan earned the honor after a strong attacking season for the Pilots. Sawan had a team-high 26 points with 12 goals and two assists. She ranked fourth in the WCC in points, third in total goals and first in game-winning goals with six. She was named to the All-WCC First Team this year.
The Pilots went 9-8 this season and 5-4 in WCC play, finishing fifth in the conference. That record and finish was their best since 2013.
