Box Score EUGENE, Ore. – Nicklas Oberg recorded an impressive singles win for Portland, but the Oregon Ducks secured a 6-1 team victory in a non-conference men's tennis match Wednesday night at the Student Recreation Center.

Oberg dropped the opening set to Luke Vandecasteele at the No. 4 spot, but bounced back to take the second set by a 6-3 margin. He claimed the victory with a 10-7 score in the third set super tiebreaker.

The Ducks (5-0) remained unbeaten after getting off to a strong start against the Pilots (1-1), who had not played since a Feb. 5 win against Portland State.

Oregon swept the doubles point comfortably and then took the opening set in all six singles matches. Portland started settling in and Sema Pankin forced a third set at the top of the lineup against No. 30-ranked Joshua Charlton. Pankin pushed Charlton to the limit before falling 7-5 in the third set tiebreaker.

"We got off to really slow starts all the way around," Portland head coach Aaron Gross said. "The combination of playing a good team on their home court on a travel day was tough. Nick Oberg turned his match around and had a nice win. He has been working hard, so it's great to see him rewarded

Sema took a nice step forward, losing a close one to a legit Pac-12 No. 1 player. He really lifted his game and played more aggressive at key times and that almost got him over the hump. We will keep getting better and learning from these experiences."
