PORTLAND, Ore.---The Pilots men's and women's track and field teams are headed to Eugene this week to compete in two meets, the UO Hayward Premiere taking place on Friday at the newly renovated Hayward Field, and the NW Distance Jamboree Meet hosted at Lane Community College on Saturday afternoon.

Both Pilot programs are coming off of a week without any competition, and most recently opened the outdoor track and field season at the Lewis & Clark Meet on March 20th, where women's runners Laura Pellicoro and Tara Fuiten produced top-10 all-time performances in their first races of the year. Pellicoro, who made her Pilot debut at the meet, finished the day with an individual win in the 1500m run, and her time of 4:22.52 landed her in eighth-place in program history in the event. Fuiten collected the individual victory in the women's 400m dash, claiming a new personal best of 58.13 to overtake 10th-place all-time in UP school history.
 
The Pilots also swept the top spots in both the women's and men's 800m runs at the Lewis & Clark Meet two weeks ago, with Lauren Block earning the win in a time of 2:19.92, and George Duggan taking first-place for the men in 1:54.10.
 
Bradley Peloquin was the last Pilot to claim an overall win at Lewis & Clark, notching a new PR of 3:53.51 in the men's 1500m run on the day.
 
After this weekend, the Pilots will remain in-state for two more upcoming local events, the Willamette Dual Meet on Thursday, April 15th and another meet hosted by Lewis & Clark on Saturday, April 17th.
