SAN DIEGO, Calif. – The Portland women's tennis team dropped a 4-2 road match against the Point Loma Sea Lions on Thursday at the PLNU Tennis Courts.

Iva Zelic cruised to a 6-1, 6-0 win at No. 1 singles and Emily Soares pulled out a 6-2, 3-6, 6-3 victory at No. 3 singles for the Pilots.

Portland's No. 2 doubles team of Neli Sunjic and Rimona Rouf also picked up a 6-4 win, but the Sea Lions took the other two doubles matches to grab the 1-0 team lead.

Point Loma went ahead 3-2 with straight set wins at the No. 2 and No. 4 singles positions. No. 5 and No. 6 singles each went to a third set with the overall match on the line. Gabi Armas outlasted Marija Elenova by a 6-3, 4-6, 6-4 margin at the No. 5 spot to clinch. Portland's Angela Schuster was tied 5-5 in the third against Samantha Neilson in an unfinished match at No. 6.

The Pilots return to West Coast Conference action with a Saturday morning match against the San Diego Toreros at 10 a.m.
