PORTLAND, Ore.---The Pilots men's and women's track and field teams will compete at the Portland Distance Carnival on Sunday hosted by the Lewis & Clark Pioneers at Sherwood High School.
 
Live results will be available to follow the meet at PortlandPilots.com. No spectators will be allowed on site at the event.
 
Laura Pellicoro, Veerle Bakker, Anna Pataki, Stella Gillman, Sofia Castiglioni, and Vic Weir will open the day for the women's team in the first heat of the 1500 meter run, set to begin at 6:15 p.m.
 
Immediately after, Konnor Hathaway, Parker Wilkerson, and Bradley Peloquin will race in the men's 800 meter run, scheduled for 6:30 p.m.
 
Last week, both Portland programs competed at two local meets, the Oregon Twilight and the Portland Twilight. Over at Hayward Field on Friday, Pilots newcomer Cathal Doyle broke the all-time school record in the men's 1500 meter run with a time of 3:40.54 to surpass Jeff Thies' previous record of 3:40.73 from the 2017 outdoor season. Then on Saturday, Doyle registered the fifth-best all-time finish while making his debut in the 800 meter run, collecting an individual win on the day in just 1:50.63.
 
On the women's side, Laura Pellicoro also notched a new Top-10 all-time best finish in the 1500m, landing in fourth-place with a new personal best of 4:20.75.
 
Following this weekend, the Pilots will gear up for the NCAA West Preliminary Meet taking place from Thursday, May 27 through Saturday, May 29 in College Station, Texas.
