Of the two semifinal heats, Doyle will look to advance as one of the Top-12 finishers in order to qualify for the final round. The top five in each section plus the next two best times will move on to the championship race scheduled for Friday, June 11 at 5:11 p.m.
Â
Last week at the West Preliminary meet, Doyle qualified for the 1500m NCAA Championship competition with an eighth-place overall finish in the quarterfinal round of races. His new personal best of 3:39.99 also cracked a new all-time school record in the 1500m. Doyle had previously broke the program best finish in the event already this season during the Oregon Twilight meet at the beginning of May, overtaking the previous record of 3:40.73 set by Jeff Thies back in 2017.
