SANTA CLARA, Calif. -- The Portland volleyball team fell 3-2 (22-25, 25-17, 17-25, 25-23, 12-15) to the Santa Clara Broncos Thursday on the road at Leavey Center. The loss dropped Portland's record to 9-9 overall and 2-5 in WCC action.
The Pilots were led by a double-double from Maui Robins, who registered 14 kills and 14 digs on the day. Jayde Harris also added 15 kills to help the offense. On the defensive end, Grace Zilbert chipped in for Portland with 18 digs to go with five blocks from Charity Bradley.

SET 1 | The Pilots fell behind early, dropping the first set 25-22. Santa Clara grabbed the advantage for good at 22-21 in a set that was tied up seven times before the Broncos took over in the second half of the stanza.
SET 2 | Portland responded to pick up a 25-17 victory in the second set, evening the match at one set apiece. The Pilots took the set powered by a solid performance on the attacking end. Portland registered a .393 attack percentage with 14 kills in the set win. The Pilots ended on a strong note, stretching their lead to its largest point in the set to finish out the stanza. The Portland offense also got a boost from three aces in the set.
SET 3 | Santa Clara responded to win set number three, putting Portland in a two sets to one hole. The Pilots lost a tough set 25-17. Portland trailed by as many as eight points as Santa Clara grabbed the advantage for good at 10-9 in a set that was tied up six times before the Broncos took over the lead.
SET 4 | Portland then responded to secure the fourth set 25-23 to force a fifth set. A strong performance on the attacking end led the Pilots to victory in the set. Portland put together a .324 attack percentage with 15 kills in the set win. After the lead changed hands five times, the Pilots took control for good at 20-19 and rode that advantage to victory. Portland also supplemented their offense with four aces in the set.
SET 5 | Portland was on the wrong side of a back-and-forth match, winning the second and fourth sets, but losing the first, third and fifth, which they dropped by the score of 15-12, to fall in the match. The Pilots had a lead early in the set at 4-4 before Santa Clara took over.
