TUSCALOOSA, Ala. -- Despite a resilient effort, the Portland Pilots saw their season end on Friday with a 2-1 loss to the one-seed Alabama Crimson Tide. The loss dropped Portland's record to 12-5-4 overall on the year.
How it Happened
- Alabama grabbed a 1-0 lead when Riley Mattingly Parker scored in the 67th minute off a penalty kick.
- The Pilots leveled the match on a penalty kick goal from Cally Togiai -- her sixth goal of the season -- soon after in the 69th minute.
- The Crimson Tide regained the lead 2-1 on 74th-minute goal. Neither team scored again in the game.
Game Notes
- The Pilots still end the season with their highest win total since the 2013 season.
- Their .667 win percentage is also the best since that season.
- Bre Norris recorded eight saves for the Pilots out of 19 total Crimson Tide shots. It's the highest save total in a playoff game by a Pilot keeper since Erin Dees in 2012.
- Norris's 90 saves are the third most by a Pilot in a single season.
- Togiai's goal was her sixth of the year. The Pilots finished the year perfect on PK's.
