PORTLAND, Ore. – Tyler Robertson scored 22 points, but the Portland men's basketball team scored just 26 second half points in an 80-68 loss to the Seattle U Redhawks at the Chiles Center on Saturday.
Robertson added eight rebounds, four assists, and three steals to his 22 point game to lead the Pilots (4-2). Moses Wood helped out with 11 points and seven rebounds and Alden Applewhite chipped in with 10 points coming off the bench.
Portland forced 15 Seattle U turnovers while committing 12 themselves in Saturday's game. The Pilots turned those takeaways into 15 points on the offensive end of the floor.
How It Happened
After falling behind 26-17, Portland went on a 12-0 run with 8:12 left in the first half to take a 29-26 lead. The Pilots then added three points to that lead by the end of the period and entered halftime with a 42-36 advantage. Portland got a great contribution from its bench in the period, as non-starters accounted for 12 of its 42 total points.
Seattle U then opened the second half with a 10-0 run to retake the lead and never looked back. The Redhawks extended the margin to as much as 14 points late in regulation.
Cameron Tyson led four Seattle U players in double figures with 18 points.
