SAN MATEO, Calif. – For the third time this season, Portland Pilots winger Brandon Cambridge has been named the WCC Offensive Player of the Week. This is the third time he's won this season, and it's the 11th time a Pilot has earned the award.
Cambridge earned the honor after putting together a hat trick in Portland's dominant 4-0 win over the Santa Clara Broncos. The win helped the Pilots secure an undefeated regular season record at home for the first time since 1995. He's the fifth player since 2016 to score three or more goals in a match, and the second this season. It was also his second multi-goal match of the season.
It's been a stellar season for Cambridge, who now sits at 28 points, 12 points more than the next closest player. It's also the highest total by a Pilot since Steven Evans had 31 in 2012. He is the only player in the conference with 10 goals or more (11) and the only one with at least five goals and five assists (six assists). He is sixth in the nation in points and ninth in goals.
The Pilots head into the week with an 11-2-3 record and a 5-1 record in WCC play. They'll take on the Pacific Tigers this weekend in Stockton, Calif., with the teams set to face off on Saturday, Nov. 12 at 7 p.m.
