EUGENE, Ore --The Portland Pilots (5-4) had a strong start but ultimately fell to the No. 19 Oregon Ducks 90-51 in Eugene. Alex Fowler led the Pilots (5-4) with 19 points, being the only double-digit scorer for Portland.
Lucy Cochrane matched her season high with six blocks on the day, along with five rebounds. Haylee Andrews added six points and four assists.
How It Happened
After falling behind 5-2, Portland went on a 6-0 run with 8:10 left in the first quarter, culminating in a bucket from Fowler, to take an 8-5 lead. The Pilots then surrendered that lead and entered the second quarter down 21-18.
Oregon kept adding to that lead, building a 36-24 advantage before Portland went on a 5-0 run to narrow its deficit to 36-29. Oregon responded and expanded its lead, leaving the Pilots trailing 40-29 heading into halftime.
Portland's deficit continued to grow after halftime, and the Pilots faced a 73-41 disadvantage heading to the fourth quarter. Portland played well near the basket, scoring 10 of its 12 points in the paint. Oregon outscored the Pilots the rest of the way, ending the game with a final score of 90-51.

» The Pilots shared the ball well, recording an assist on 62 percent of made baskets.
» in her second game back, Haylee Andrews scored six points and added four assists in just 13 minutes.
» Alex Fowler led the Pilots with 19 points. This is the fifth time that Fowler has led the Pilots in scoring this season.
» Portland got a team-high five rebounds from Lucy Cochrane.
