SAN MATEO, Calif. – The West Coast Conference has announced men's basketball matchups for the 2022-23 season. The schedule features each team playing 16 league games, which consists of seven home-and-home opponents as well as one-off home and away opponents.

The Pilots will face Gonzaga, Saint Mary's, San Francisco, San Diego, Pepperdine, Loyola Marymount and Pacific both home and away. Portland will take on Santa Clara (home) and BYU (away) just once next season.

The matchups are based on a conference formula including the 2020-21 and 2021-22 team NET rankings, last year's University Credit Union WCC tournament seedings, and a spring survey of the league's 10 head coaches.
The league changed from an 18- to 16-game format for the 2018-19 season.

The 2023 UCU WCC Men's and Women's Basketball Tournament is scheduled for March 2-7 at the Orleans Arena in Las Vegas.

Portland is returning the top seven scorers and all major contributors from the 19-win team that head coach Shantay Legans put together for his first year on The Bluff. Portland recorded the first postseason win at the NCAA level and matched the fourth-most wins in a season since joining the Division I ranks in 1958. Other highlights included a road win against NCAA Tournament participant San Francisco, a 7-7 WCC record, and a six-game win streak late in the season.
