PORTLAND, Ore. -- The Portland Pilots (1-0-1) earned their first win of the season in impressive fashion, defeating the Eastern Washington Eagles (0-1-1) 6-0.
How it Happened
- Portland grabbed a 1-0 lead when MJ Roe recorded her first goal of the season in the 21st minute, assisted by Cally Togiai.
- The Pilots increased their lead to 2-0 on a goal from Aubrey Turner -- her second of the season -- in the 29th minute, assisted by Kayla Adams.
- Portland expanded its lead to 3-0 on Adams' 33rd-minute goal, her first of the season and of her career.
- The Pilots made it a 4-0 lead with a 52nd-minute goal from Colby Wilson, her first goal of the season and of her college career. Adams and Sophia Mattice assisted the goal.
- Portland extended its advantage to 5-0 on Brooke Miller's first goal as a Pilot in the 57th minute, assisted by Togiai.
- The Pilots' finished off the scoring at 6-0 thanks to a 77th-minute goal from Kate Howes, also the first of her career. Nedya Sawan assisted the goal.
Game Notes
- With six goals, the Pilots put up their highest goal total in a match since 2016. It's also the biggest goal differential since that year.
- Six different Pilots scored on the day, with four different scorers earning the first goals of their Pilot careers. It's the first time since 2011 the Pilots have had six different goalscorers in a game.
- Aubrey Turner now leads the Pilots in goals this season with two.

"I think we're always happy with a win like that. But I think the most important thing is just keeping everything in perspective. Season is still early and we've got a really big test coming up next week -- two of them actually -- so we're happy... but at the end of the day it's just one win of what we need to be a whole lot more, so just the first step."
