SACRAMENTO, Calif. --Â Noelani Helm notched a triple-double with 10 kills, 13 digs, and 15 assists to power the Portland volleyball team to a 3-0 victory (25-18, 26-24, 25-22) over the Middle Tennessee Lady Raiders Friday at The Nest.
The out-of-conference win improved Portland's overall record to 1-0 on the season.
Helm had an outstanding day, notching a triple-double with 10 kills, 13 digs, and 15 assists to lead the Pilots. Jayde Harris also added 10 kills to help the offense. On the defensive end, Maui Robins chipped in for with 16 digs to go with four blocks from Emma Swett.

How It Happened
SET 1 | The Pilots won the first point and never looked back to win the first set 25-18. Portland opened up its biggest lead, seven points, to close out the set. Portland also supplemented their offense with seven aces in the opening set.
SET 2 | Portland took set two 26-24 to quickly take a 2-0 lead. The Pilots survived a furious Middle Tennessee rally, hanging on to win after leading by seven points at 15-8 earlier in the set. The Portland offense also got a boost from three aces in the stanza. Portland's front row had a solid defensive performance, blocking four Middle Tennessee attacks in the stanza.
SET 3 | Portland took the third set to finish the match in a 3-0 sweep. The Pilots the set the third set 25-22. Portland took the lead for good at 23-22 in a set that had just one lead change before the Pilots took over in the second half of the stanza. Portland's front row had a solid defensive performance, blocking five Middle Tennessee attacks in the stanza.
