SACRAMENTO, Calif. -- Noelani Helm notched a triple-double with 12 kills, 13 digs, and 25 assists to propel the Pilots to a 3-1 win (25-22, 26-28, 25-17, 26-24) over the Sacramento State Hornets Saturday on the road at The Nest.
The non-conference victory improved Portland's overall record to 3-0.
Helm had an outstanding day, notching a triple-double with 12 kills, 13 digs, and 25 assists to lead the Pilots. Her efforts earned her the title of tournament MVP. Jayde Harris also added 17 kills to help the offense. Keilani Mumolo also pitched in with five in the contest. On the defensive end, Grace Zilbert chipped in for with 10 digs to go with five blocks from Elin Larsson.
Three Pilots were all-tournament selections including Noelani Helm (MVP), Maui Robins, and Jayde Harris.

SET 1 | The Pilots endured a furious Sacramento State rally in the first set, hanging on to win 25-22 after leading by seven points at 16-9 earlier in the set. Portland also supplemented their offense with three aces in the opening set.
SET 2 | Portland fought hard in the second set but fell short 28-26 to tie the match 1-1. The Pilots dropped a back-and-forth set, losing in a stanza that featured four lead changes and was tied 15 times. Neither team led by more than four points along the way.
SET 3 | Portland bounced back after the set-two loss to grab the third set and a 2-1 lead in the match. The Pilots grabbed control of the set early when the score was 3-2 and held the lead the rest of the way to win 25-17. Portland led by eight points at 12-4 before closing out the stanza. The Portland offense also got a boost from three aces during the third set.
SET 4 | Portland kept the momentum going, claiming the match win with a 26-24 fourth-set victory. The Pilots came out on top of a tight battle that was tied three times and had one lead change. Portland also supplemented their offense with three aces in the set.
