THIS WEEK
• The Pilots hit the road for the Oregon State Invitational, their third tournament of the 2022 season.
• Portland is set for three matches in Corvallis, facing the North Texas Mean Green on Friday, Sept. 9 at 5 p.m. then the Pilots will play the Utah State Aggies on Saturday, Sept. 10, 11:30 a.m. and finally the tournament hosts, Oregon State, at 7 p.m.

ABOUT THE PILOTS
• Megan Burton enters her third year as the head coach of the Pilots volleyball program, with assistant coaches Dylan Hamilton also returning for the 2022 season. Additionally, the Pilots welcome Kyle Homeyer as a new assistant coach for the 2022 season after serving as a volunteer coach in 2021.
• The Pilots also bring back six letter winners from the fall 2021 season.
• The program welcomes seven true freshmen to The Bluff this fall in Maui Robins, Elin Larsson, Jordan Bardouche, Marleena Catalan, Lucia Busso, Larkin Chock, and Una Rajkovic.
• Portland has also added three transfer students to their roster, including setter Talyn Jackson out of Virginia Tech, middle blocker Griselda Memia from American University and outside hitter Lia Hawken from Dayton University.
• Portland will be looking for leadership from returner Jayde Harris, as well as their transfers to create an exciting and dynamic offense this season. Harris led the team with 261 kills in 2021, which earned her all-WCC honors.
• Currently the Pilots have an overall record of 5-1 after competing in the Denver Invitational, defeating Hofstra (3-1) and Butler (3-0).
• Prior to that, the Pilots competed in the Sacramento State Invitational, where they won the tournament overall. This was their first tournament win since 2019, earning three athletes all-tournament honors.
• This included Noelani Helm, Maui Robins and Jayde Harris.
• Noelani Helm was also named tournament MVP for the Sacramento State Invitational.
• Portland currently sits tied for second in overall record for the WCC at 5-1. The Pilots lead the WCC in two team statistics, including aces per set (2.18) and team service aces (48).
• Additionally, the Pilots are ranked second in the WCC for Win-Loss percentage, as well as third in digs per set (15.05), opp. hitting percentage (.172) and team total blocks (50).
• Noelani Helm is also the overall leader for the conference in triple-doubles, sitting at two so far this season. She is also ranked second in the nation for the same category.
• The Pilots are led in individual stats by a different athlete in each category, showing their depth. Jayde Harris leads in kills (59), Grace Zilbert leads in digs (77), Noelani Helm leads in assists (129) and Emma Swett leads in blocks (23).
ABOUT THE OPPONENTS
• North Texas finished 15-12 overall during the 2021 season. Their top returning player offensively is Truli Levy, who accumulated 155 kills last season.
• Utah State's 2021 season culminated in a 22-9 overall record, including an 14-4 record within the Mountain West Conference. The Aggies returns Junior Tatum Stall, who recorded 419 kills during the 2021 season.
• Oregon State recorded a 5-25 season last fall, with a 3-17 record within the PAC-12 Conference. The Beavers are returning Sophomore, Kateryna Tkachenco, who recorded 282 kills last season.
