SPOKANE, WA -- Kristian Sjolund registered a double-double with 17 points and 12 rebounds, but the Portland men's basketball team fell to the Gonzaga Bulldogs 115-75 on the road Saturday.
In addition to Sjolund's double-double, the Pilots (9-11, 1-4) were led by Moses Wood, who put up 19 points and seven rebounds, and by Alden Applewhite, who tacked on 13 points.
Sjolund pulled down five offensive rebounds to lead the Portland offense which grabbed 11 boards and turned them into 22 second chance points.

Portland struggled out of the gate, falling behind 61-28 heading into halftime.

How It Happened
Portland struggled out of the gate, falling behind 28-8 after missing its first 10 three-point attempts. The Pilots then drilled five of their next six to pull within 42-25, but the Bulldogs closed the period strong and took a 61-28 lead into halftime.
Gonzaga kept widening its lead after intermission, constructing a 67-33 advantage before Portland went on a 7-0 run, finished off by Vasilije Vucinic's layup, to shrink the deficit to 67-40 with 15:59 to go in the contest. Gonzaga responded and outscored the Pilots the rest of the way, ending the game with a final score of 115-75. Portland got a boost from its bench in the period, as non-starters accounted for 15 of its 47 total points.
