PORTLAND, Ore. -- The Portland Pilots got a pair of goals from Kayla Adams and earned their 10th shutout of the year in a 4-0 win over the San Diego Toreros. The victory improved Portland's record to 9-2-2 overall and 3-1-0 in WCC play.
How it Happened
Portland started the scoring when Adams scored her first goal of the season in the 28th minute, assisted by Sophia Mattice. The Pilots extended their lead to 2-0 on a goal from Mattice -- her second goal of the season -- in the 49th minute.
Portland extended its lead to 3-0 on Adams' 56th-minute goal, her second of the season. Nedya Sawan assisted the goal. It's just the second time a Pilot has scored more than one goal in a match this year.
The Pilots went up 4-0 with a 59th-minute goal from Violet Rademacher, her fourth goal of the season. Mattice assisted the goal. The score finished off the 4-0 match.

- Bre Norris recorded three saves for the Pilots out of five total Toreros shots.
- Portland collected 12 shots on goal.
- Portland's four goals matches a season high for scores in a match.
- Kayla Adams is the second Pilot to score more than one goal in a match this year. These were the first two goals of the year for the striker.
- Rademacher's goal was her fourth of the season, good for second on the team.
- Mattice is the first player this year to notch a goal and multiple assists in the same match.
- This is the 10th shutout of the year for the Pilots, the most through 13 games since 2008.Their four goals conceded are also the fewest since that year.
- Norris is credited with the shutout, giving her 29 for her career. That ranks fourth in program history.
- Portland's nine wins through 13 games are the most up to this point since 2013.
