MALIBU, Calif. -- The Portland Pilots battled, but fell 3-1 on the road to the Pepperdine Waves. Portland's record sits at 9-3-2 overall and 3-2-0 in WCC play with the defeat.
How it Happened
Portland broke the scoreless tie when Nedya Sawan notched her sixth goal of the season in the 15th minute. Her six goals are a team high this season.
The Waves evened the match on a goal from Tatum Wynalda in the 20th minute, assisted by Julia Quinonez. Pepperdine added to that lead before the end of the half, making it 2-1 on Tori Waldeck's 27th-minute goal, assisted by Skylar Enge.
The Waves took a 3-1 lead with a 74th-minute goal from Quinonez. The goal finished off the scoring in the match.
Game Notes
- Sawan's goal was her sixth of the season, the most on the Pilots. She is the 24th Pilot ever to score at least 25 goals for their career.
- Bre Norris collected four saves for the Pilots out of 15 total Waves shots.
