SPOKANE, Wash. -- The Portland volleyball team rallied from a two sets deficit to secure a comeback 3-2 victory (24-26, 18-25, 25-22, 25-22, 15-12) against the Gonzaga Bulldogs Thursday on the road at Charlotte Y. Martin Center. The conference victory improved Portland's record to 9-19 overall and 4-12 in WCC action.
The Pilots were led by a double-double from Maui Robins, who registered 22 kills and 10 digs on the day. Elin Larsson also added 16 kills to help the attack. On the defensive end, Kili Robins chipped in for with 20 digs to go with three blocks from Lia Hawken.

SET 1 | The Pilots fell in a back-and-forth first set, losing 26-24 in a game that featured four lead changes and was tied 13 times. Neither team led by more than three points in the match.
SET 2 | Portland then dropped set two 25-18 to fall behind in the match two sets to none. Portland trailed by as many as seven points as Gonzaga grabbed the advantage for good at 10-9 in a set that was tied up two times before the Bulldogs took over the lead.
SET 3 | Portland rallied back to pull within two sets to one, winning their first set of the match in the third stanza. The Pilots the set set three 25-22. Portland took the lead for good at 20-19 in a set that showcased two lead changes before the Pilots took over in the second half of the stanza.
SET 4 | Portland then kept the comeback train rolling, winning the fourth set 25-22 to bring the match level at two sets apiece. The Pilots led from the first point on in the set to earn the victory. Portland opened up as much as a four point lead at 6-2 before closing out the stanza. Portland also supplemented their offense with three aces in the set.
SET 5 | Portland fell behind two sets to none, but put together an epic comeback to grab the final three sets, culminating in a 15-12 fifth-set victory, and take the match 3-2. The Pilots took the fifth set propelled by a strong performance on the attacking side. Portland put together a .333 attack percentage with 10 kills in the set win. After the lead changed hands two times, the Pilots took control for good at 8-7 and rode that advantage to victory.
