PORTLAND, Ore. – Portland Pilots women's soccer had four players earn All-West Region honors on Tuesday, with goalkeeper Bre Norris making the first team; defender Camille Ashe and forward Nedya Sawan made the second team; and attacking midfielder Cally Togiai made the third team. It's the most all-region honorees for Portland since 2013.
Norris makes the first team for the first time in her career after making the second team last season. She was stellar between the pipes for Portland, playing in all 17 matches. Norris led the WCC in shutouts (11), goals-against average (.529) and save percentage (.836) and ranked eight and 12
th nationally in both shutouts and goals-against average. She was an All-WCC First Team selection and won WCC Goalkeeper of the Year as well.
Ashe, earning her first all-region selection, is coming off the best season of her Pilot career, leading a Portland defense that was one of the best in recent program history. An All-WCC First Team selection and a two-time WCC Player of the Week, Ashe guided Portland to the best goals-against average (.529) and highest shutout percentage (.647) in the WCC. Nationally, they ranked 10
th and second in those two categories respectively. Portland's nine goals allowed were the fewest they've allowed in a season since 2008.
Sawan was the top scorer for the Pilots this year, posting seven goals and four assists for 18 points total. Her seven goals were the most for a Pilot since she herself scored 12 back in 2021. Her four game-winning goals also led the WCC. Sawan earned All-WCC honors for the second time in her career, making the second team.
Finally, Togiai rounds out the all-region honorees after making the west third team for the first time in her career. An All-WCC Second Team selection, Togiai had one goal and four assists on the year, with her one goal being a game-winner against the Seattle U Redhawks. Her four assists were also tied for first on the Pilots.
Portland had a solid season this fall, posting a 10-4-3 record for their best overall winning percentage since 2013 (.68). It's the first time they've posted back-to-back seasons of 10 wins since that year as well.
