PORTLAND, Ore. – Chris Austin led five Pilots in double figures to help Portland defeat the Wyoming Cowboys 81-70 at the Chiles Center Friday night.
Vasilije Vucinic and Alimamy Koroma added 13 points each for the Pilots (5-3). Tyler Robertson stuffed the stat sheet with 12 points, four rebounds and five assists, while freshman Tyler Harris picked up his third double-double of the season with 11 points and 10 rebounds.
The Portland offense was very productive from deep, pouring in eight threes on 20 attempts. Austin was the most prolific shooter for the Pilots, draining three treys in the contest.
How It Happened
After falling behind 28-21, Portland went on a 15-0 run with 5:38 left in the first half to take a 36-28 lead. The Cowboys (4-3) chipped away, but the Pilots still entered halftime with a 36-31 advantage. Portland relied on its three-point shooting in the period, knocking down five shots to account for 15 of its 36 points.
Portland kept its lead intact before going on a 7-0 run, finished off by Koroma's layup, to grow the lead to 56-47 with 11:13 to go in the contest. A Harris dunk gave Portland a 63-53 lead with just under seven minutes remaining and the Pilots would lead by double digits until the end.

» Tyler Harris, who entered as the No. 2 freshman rebounder in the nation, notched a double-double for the Pilots with 11 points and 10 rebounds.
» Koroma made it three straight games in double figures off the bench.
» Noah Jordan provided a big spark off the bench for the Pilots with six points and eight rebounds. Portland was plus 14 in his 14 minutes of action.
» Portland never trailed in the second half on its way to victory.
» Portland recorded 17 total assists in the game.
» Portland had a 36-24 edge on the boards in the win.
» The Portland defense forced 18 turnovers.
» This marked the first win for Portland in the series with Wyoming, who entered the contest 2-0 against the Pilots.
