SAN MATEO, Calif. – Continuing her impressive run through conference play, Alex Fowler has been named the WCC Player of the Week for the fourth time this season. It's the third week in a row she has won the award and the 11
th time for her career.
Fowler was crucial in both Portland's 83-80 overtime victory over the San Francisco Dons and their offensively potent 80-68 win over the Santa Clara Broncos. She scored 23 and 26 points respectively in each contest, averaging 7.5 rebounds and two steals a game as well. During the weekend, Fowler also became just the second Pilot ever and the fifth WCC player ever to reach at least 2,000 points for their career.
The Townsville, Australia native has been a top-tier player at the mid-major level all season long. She currently leads the WCC in points per game (18.4), total points (442), steals per game (1.79), field-goal percentage (60.7), free throw attempts (132) and free throws made (108). She is also second in total steals (43) and field goals made (159) and seventh in assists per game (3.3). In conference play alone, she's averaging 20 points a contest along with 5.8 rebounds, 3.3 assists and 1.9 steals.

th in field goals made. She is one of five players averaging at least 18 points, 5.5 rebounds, three assists and 1.5 steals per contest. She is 14
th in career points among all active NCAA Division I players at 2,003 and is eighth in total field goals made at 784.
The Pilots vaulted to a tie for first in the WCC this weekend, moving to 18-6 overall and 12-1 in WCC play. It's their best WCC record since the 1996-97 season. Portland has already clinched the double bye for the University Credit Union WCC Basketball Tournament and has five wins over the third and fourth place teams, BYU and San Diego.
Portland will travel up to Spokane for a showdown against the other top team in the WCC, the Gonzaga Bulldogs. The two teams face off on Saturday, Feb. 11 at 1 p.m. on ROOT Sports and other regional broadcasts. Check PortlandPilots.com for live stats and video options.
