PORTLAND, Ore. – Moses Wood scored 26 points and Juanse Gorosito added a career high 19 points to help lead the Portland men's basketball team past the Pacific Tigers 81-73 at home Thursday.
The Pilots (13-14, 5-7 WCC) had three players score in double figures as Tyler Robertson chipped in with 15 points, eight rebounds and six assists.
Portland took advantage of great ball movement in Thursday's game, piling up 15 assists on 23 made field goals. Robertson's six assists paced the Pilots and Mike Meadows also contributed with three assists of his own.
Keylan Boone led the Tigers (12-14, 5-6) with 22 points before fouling out in just 20 minutes of action.
How It Happened
After falling behind 33-24, Portland went on an 8-0 run highlighted by a pair of Gorosito threes to narrow its deficit to 33-32, a score that would hold until halftime.
Pacific widened its lead after intermission, constructing a 46-41 advantage before Portland went on a 9-0 run, finished off by Meadows' three, to seize a 50-46 lead with 12:32 to go in the contest. The Pilots kept expanding the margin and coasted the rest of the way for the 81-73 win. Portland shot well from three-point range in the half, hitting eight shots from deep to score 24 of its 49 points.
