Albuquerque, NM -- Laura Pellicoro finished 13th overall in the semi-finals race but will not continue on to tomorrow's final. Pellicoro clocked a time of 4:43.59 to finish eighth in her heat.
In a field of 16 competitors, the top four times in each section as well as the next two best times qualified for Saturday's championship race, set to begin at 3 p.m. (PST).
"This was a tough race for Laura and not what she's capable of, but she had a great indoor season and will be ready for big things outdoors," said Coach Ian Solof.
Pellicoro's season was highlighted by five school record runs, including two in the mile event. Her current mark of 4:32.91 was set in Seattle, Wash. at the Dempsey Indoor facility on Feb. 25, 2023.
The Pilots men's and women's track and field teams return to the outdoor track next weekend for two separate meets. On Fri. and Sat. Mar. 17-18th, the Pilots will travel to University of Oregon for the Oregon Preview meet in Eugene, Ore. On Sat. March 18, the Pilots will also compete in the L&C Spring Break Open in Portland, Ore.
