LOS ANGELES, Calif. – Portland freshman Alaia Rubio Perez earned a three-set singles victory, but the Pilots dropped a 6-1 decision to No. 46 Loyola Marymount in West Coast Conference action on Saturday. Rubio Perez improves to 12-2 in dual singles matches this spring.

LMU (11-6, 5-2 WCC) moved its win streak to five matches, while the Pilots fall to 9-6 overall and 1-3 in league.

The Lions secured the doubles point with 6-2 wins at the No. 2 and No. 3 positions.

The Pilots battled at a few positions, but ultimately dropped the other five singles matches in straight sets.

Portland returns home with three final regular season matches at the Louisiana Pacific Tennis Center. The Pilots host Saint Mary's on Friday at 9 a.m. and then Pacific on Saturday at 10 a.m. The team then welcomes Gonzaga on Saturday, April 22 at 10 a.m. All matches will have live video and scoring available at PortlandPilots.com.
