Pilots at the World Cup
- Three Pilots will be representing their respective countries at the 2023 World Cup: Megan Rapinoe (USA), Christine Sinclair and Sophie Schmidt (Canada).
- Rapinoe has been a mainstay of the U.S. national team since 2009, having made her senior team debut in 2006. She has played in every World Cup since 2011, with the U.S. having won the last two World Cup's (2019, 2015) and finishing second in 2011.
- This will be Rapinoe's fourth World Cup with the United States. She has tallied nine goals and seven assists across 17 matches played, including winning the Golden Boot in 2019 after scoring six goals.
- This World Cup will be Rapinoe's last, as she will retire at the end of this year.
- Sinclair will be playing in her sixth World Cup with Canada. She has been a part of the senior team since the 2003 World Cup, having led them to a fourth place finish that first year.
- In World Cup play, Sinclair has played in 21 matches and has 10 goals and two assists for Canada.
- Sinclair is the all-time leading scorer in international soccer on both the men's and women's side with 190 goals. She led Canada to their first gold medal ever in the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo.
- Schmidt was an alternate for the Canadian National Team that won a gold medal in Tokyo.
- Schmidt has been a part of the Canadian squad since 2007 and has played in four World Cups for her country. She's played and started in 15 matches for Canada in the World Cup.
