EASTON, Mass. -- The Portland Pilots lit up the scoreboard in their 4-0 win over the Stonehill College Skyhawks, their biggest win of the year by score. The win improved Portland's record to 5-1-2 overall.
How it Happened
Portland broke the scoreless tie when Violet Rademacher recorded her second goal of the season in the 32nd minute. Rademacher followed a shot off the crossbar and headed it through a swath of Stonehill defenders to score.
The Pilots extended their lead to 2-0 on a goal from Nina Rhode -- her first goal of the season -- in the 64th minute, as she curved the ball right inside the net. The goal was the first of her Pilot career.
Portland went up 3-0 on Hailey Bagby's 71st-minute goal, her first of the season and of her career. Bagby took advantage of Stonehill's poor passing out of the box and powered a shot by the Skyhawks.
The Pilots made it a 4-0 lead almost immediately with a 72nd-minute goal from Nedya Sawan, her second goal of the season. Aubrey Turner assisted the goal after intercepting a pass at midfield and playing it through to Sawan. The score held to the end of the match.
