PORTLAND, Ore. -- The Portland Pilots scored twice and held the Cal Poly Mustangs scoreless for a 2-0 win at Merlo Field in their final nonconference match. The win improved Portland's record to 6-1-2 overall.
How it Happened
Portland started the scoring when Sawan scored her third goal of the season early in the third minute, assisted by MacKenzie Frimpong Ellertson and Camille Ashe. It was the fastest goal of the season for Portland.
The Pilots tacked on another score on a goal from Mattice -- her first goal of the season -- in the 12th minute, assisted by Cally Togiai. Mattice took it up the left side off the pass from Mattice to give Portland their second goal. The goal finished off the scoring in the match.

- Portland's shutout was the seventh of the year and the fifth in a row.
- Portland's two goals conceded is the fewest the team's allowed through nine matches since 2008.
- The Pilots' six wins are the most they've had through nine games since 2013.
- The Pilots totaled five shots on goal.
- Sawan's goal was her third of the season, which is the most of any Pilot. She is now tied for 25th in career goals with 22.
- Mattice's goal was her first of the season.
- The match was the final nonconference match of the year for Portland.
