SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. -- The Portland Pilots and the San Francisco Dons battled to a 1-1 draw at the Hilltop on Sunday, with the Pilots recording their fourth straight tie. The draw moved Portland's record to 2-4-6 overall and 0-0-3 in WCC action.
Nicky Dunbar scored the goal for Portland, his third goal of the season. He's the first Pilot to reach three goals on the year. Kash Oladapo also posted seven saves, a season high as well as the most he's posted in his Pilot career in a single match.
How it Happened
Portland started the scoring when Dunbar scored his third goal of the season in the 36th minute, assisted by Oliver Jeppe. Jeppe played a perfect ball down the middle to Dunbar, who took a touch before knocking it in for the goal.
The Dons evened the game on a goal from Joe Core in the 56th minute, assisted by Gabriel Bracken Serra. The Pilots fended the Dons off the rest of the way to maintain the tie.
Game Notes
- Kash Oladapo collected seven saves for the Pilots out of 24 total Dons shots. It's the highest save total Oladapo has posted as a Pilot.
- Dunbar scored his third goal of the season, becoming the first Pilot to reach three goals on the year.
- Portland's six ties are the most they've posted in a year since 2010. They've totaled six ties just three times in program history.
- The Pilots have gone unbeaten in their first three WCC games for the second time in three years.
