SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. – The Portland Pilots had 10 student-athletes earn WCC All-Academic Honorable Mention on Friday: Efetobo Aror; Nick Fernandez; Micaah Garnette; Michael Hatcher; Sebastian Hernandez; Oliver Jeppe, Kash Oladapo; Jose Olmos; Wylie Trujillo; and Muslim Umar.
To qualify for the team, a WCC student-athlete must be at least a sophomore athletically and academically, hold a cumulative GPA of 3.20 or better and must have participated in at least 50% of their team's contests. The All-Academic First Team usually comprises of 11 student-athletes who put on display their athletic and academic prowess, with all other qualifiers earning honorable mention.
The Pilots finished the season at 7-4-7 overall and 4-0-4 in WCC play, ending the year on a 10-game unbeaten streak that was the longest on the West Coast and the third longest in the country. They earned four wins over teams that finished in the top 35 in RPI this season as well.
