CONWAY, S.C. – Portland concluded action at the Myrtle Beach Invitational with a 94-67 loss to Princeton Sunday morning at the HTC Center. Vukasin Masic and Mikah Ballew scored 12 points each to lead the Pilots, while Jinup Dobuol added 10 points.
Turnovers cost the Pilots early as the Tigers forced 11 Portland first half giveaways while committing none. Princeton gained a 17-0 points off turnovers edge in the opening period en route to a 52-29 halftime lead. Portland also struggled to 1-of-9 from three-point range in the opening stanza compared to 8-for-23 for the Tigers.
Princeton opened the second half in similar fashion by drilling three straight three-pointers to extend the margin and never looked back.
The Tigers (5-3) shot 50 percent overall and made 16-of-44 three-pointers, while the Pilots shot just 42 percent and were 8-for-27 from beyond the arc.
Princeton also gained a 34-3 edge in points off turnovers after forcing 20 total for the game.
