PORTLAND, Ore. – Portland Pilots opened their indoor season with a strong performance at the Dual in the Dome against Portland State. 11 freshmen competed at home for the first time, and 11 returners achieved personal bests.

In the women's 200-meter race, freshman Aria Cain made a strong debut, winning in 25.37. Returners Ly'le Pullom (26.42), Lola Richardson (26.97) and Stina Pettersson (27.57 PR) also finished in the top 10.Â

Senior Aidan Fitzgerald won the men's 600-meter race with a personal best of 1:21.97. Yutaka Robert placed third in 1:23.59.Â

In the men's 1000-meter, the Pilots secured the top two spots. Junior Mark Milner took first with a personal best of 2:25.6, followed by freshman Yuta Cole in second with 2:28.90 PR. Kevin Andrews, Tommy Paltzer, and Eshaan Singh earned personal bests as well, finishing fourth (2:31.95), fifth (2:32.03), and sixth (2:35.2).Â

Brionna Holso won the women's 1000-meter with a time of 2:57.89 PR, while Izzy Lochtefeld claimed victory in the women's 3000-meter race with a personal best of 10:06.15.Â

In the men's 3000-meter race, sophomore Nathan Short took first in 8:38.62 PR. Junior Evan Delacruz and freshman Collin Penuel followed, finishing second and third, respectively.Â

The Pilot men's and women's 4x400-meter relay teams both won against two Portland State squads in each race.Â
