STOCKTON, CA -- The Portland Pilots jumped ahead 2-0, but couldn't hang on and lost in five sets (30-28, 25-19, 18-25, 19-25, 9-15) to the Pacific Tigers Saturday on the road at Alex G Spanos Center. Portland finished the season with a 12-16 overall record and 5-13 in WCC play.
The Pilots were led by a double-double from Maui Robins, who registered 19 kills and 16 digs on the day. Elin Larsson also added 13 kills to help the attack. On the defensive end, Tinoa Woodward-Hart chipped in for with a match-high 16 digs to go with three blocks from Nevaeh Bray.

How It Happened
SET 1 | The Pilots came out on top of a close first set, winning 30-28 in a set that was tied 10 times and had three lead changes. The Pilots opening set win came in a set where 18 of their 30 points came via the kill.
SET 2 | Portland won the second set 25-19 to quickly grab a 2-0 lead. The Pilots never trailed by more than five points and grabbed the advantage for good at 13-12 in a set that featured eight ties and five lead changes.
SET 3 | Portland saw its attempt at a 3-0 sweep end when Pacific took the third set. The Pilots fell in a tough set 25-18. Portland tied up the set two times before the Tigers took over the lead.
SET 4 | Portland then dropped their second straight set 25-19 to bring the match level at two sets apiece. The Pilots continued to trail before losing the set.
SET 5 | Portland won the first two sets, but couldn't win another set on their way to losing the match. The Pilots lost those early points but continue to fight from behind. The Pilots fell short in the fifth set, losing 9-15.
