GREENWOOD, Ind. -- Portland Pilots middle blocker Nevaeh Bray made the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team on Tuesday, Dec. 17.
CSC Academic All-District teams comprise of student-athletes who embody best what it means to excel both in the classroom and on the field. In order to qualify for the all-district team, a student-athlete must compete in at least 90% of a team's contests or start in 66% of those contests. They must hold a cumulative GPA of 3.5 and hold at least sophomore athletic and academic standing. Individuals with exceptional qualifications may be nominated for Academic All-American qualifications as well.
Bray makes the CSC Academic All-District Team for the first time in her career. Bray was a crucial part of Portland's front row, starting in all 28 matches for the Pilots. She ranks second on the team and eighth in the conference with 95 total blocks .
The Pilots finished the year with their highest win total since the 2018 season with an overall record of 12-16, including a 5-13 performance in conference play. Notably, four of their victories were 3-set sweeps.
