Husky Classic Day One Recap
SEATTLE, Wash. – Laura Pellicoro broke her own record for the indoor mile on Day 2 of the Husky Classic up in Seattle.
Pellicoro finished second in the mile with a time of 4:31.39, which is 1.52 seconds faster than the indoor mile record she set last season. Pellicoro has set school records in three other races this season, including the 600-meter run, the 1,000-meter run and the 3,000-meter run.
Other women Pilots had stellar days on the track, including Marlee Cavitt, who ran the 60-meter dash in 7.54 seconds, which matches her second fastest time of the season and just behind her previously established school record. Samantha Prusse set a personal record (PR) in the mile with a time of 4:51.36 and Teresa Perez and Stina Pettersson both got themselves on the all-time list in the 800-meter, with Perez running the ninth fastest time at 2:13.36 and Pettersson the 10th fastest time at 1:13.77.
On the men's side, Yutaka Roberts posted a time of 1:51.10 in the 800m, which is a personal record and also the third fastest time in program history. Sully Nordheim and Kevin Andrews also both ran in the 800m, with times of 1:55.74 and 1:57.98 respectively. It's a personal record in indoor meets for Andrews in the 800-meter.
Three Pilots on the men's side also ran in the indoor mile, with Ahmed Sado posting the fastest time at 4:04.47. Nate Lantz posted a PR with a time of 4:09.42 while Connor Kennedy ran the mile in 4:22.52.
