SPOKANE, Wash. -- The Portland Pilots fell 90-40 to the Gonzaga Bulldogs on the road Wednesday. Emme Shearer led the Pilots (17-12, 9-6) with 13 points. Kianna Hamilton also tacked on seven points and two steals off the bench and Kennedy Dickie helped out with seven points and eight rebounds.
How It Happened
Portland struggled out of the gate, falling behind 26-14 at the end of the first quarter. The Pilots continued to lose ground in the second quarter and faced a 43-20 halftime deficit.
Portland's deficit continued to grow after halftime, and the Pilots faced a 72-27 disadvantage heading to the fourth quarter. Portland could not pull any closer in the fourth, losing by a final of 90-40.
Game Notes
» The Portland bench made an impact by adding 15 points to its scoring output.
» The Portland defense forced 15 turnovers and added eight steals. Dyani Ananiev had three of those steals.
» Emme Shearer led the Pilots with 13 points.
» Portland got a team-high eight rebounds from Kennedy Dickie.
